Glimpse of Global
Established 19th September 2010 Global international school the 2nd wing of Global Group has completed 10 wonderful years of excellence in education in 2020. The school started with only 4 students in grade one with 5 teachers in the year 2010, currently running with more than 400 students and 47 qualified teachers.
The school’s growth has been rapid in the last two years under the leadership of the management and the staff. The classes have been increased from grade 11to A/L.
A pioneer in Montessori education with 23 years of excellence with Global Academy, Global International School also paving the platform for excellence in primary and secondary education.
The school currently has classes from grade 1 – A/L both in National and British (Cambridge Syllabus) with qualified teachers .The school has been recognized as a partner school of British Council in the year of 2019 after producing excellent results.
The school has extracurricular activities such as basketball, badminton, swimming, Chess, Karate, Cricket; these activities have been trained by experienced and qualified trainers.
In order to encourage co-curricular activities the school conducts two sports meets nursery & Secondary respectively. Additionally, the school conducts an Annual Concert where the students can display their hidden talents in dance and drama. It also conducts an Annual Prize Giving Day to award the best performing students and encourage the students to perform well in their studies. As teachers are the pillars of education, the school awards the best teacher too in the prize giving ceremony.
Furthermore, Global International School continues to organize a speech, Poetry, writing competitions by inviting National and private schools and the overall winner receives a bicycle every year. This program has been organized to enhance the English knowledge of the students in Colombo North.
The school has launched its 3rd wing, which is a pure girls school in the year 2019.This was an initiative by the school purely to cater the parents wish.
As the school stepping into the 11th year would look to enhance the quality of teaching and be an institution which produces students for the GLOBAL.
